Default my turbo project- finished

b18a
10.5:1
stock head

t3/t4 B housing.
57 Trim E wheel
.63 a/r housing
stage V wheel
360 degree thrust bearing

SST manifold from lovefab(equal length)
3" downpipe

custom 2.5" IC piping i made with sillicon couplers/tbolt clamps

31x6x3" IC i got on ebay that fills out my bumper SO well and flows just fine for my setup

tial 35mm

hks SS

uberdata ECU softare and an ECU i chipped myself and tuned myself. Feel absolutely amazing like a stock turbo car. uberdata is like hondata-cept its free i love it to death.

datalogging im using the dataq 194 i got for $15.

injectors are 450cc dsms balanced/blueprinted. put 10 watt / 10 ohm resistors inline to them.

The car drives like a dream. Drives like a stock turbo car. I love it to death. Full spool at about 3500. I cant express how happy I am.

I have all kinds of stories about the install, but hte bottom line was i couldnt get my ecu to work. I kept resoldering it and i could not get it to get out of limp mode. I finally tonite, came home after being out drinking. resoldered it drunk. (wasted right now). took the car out in my neighbor hood and BAM no ****** limp mode drove as smooth as rcp007's paint isnt. Ive been piecing this together for a year and trying so hard to get it done and working so hard on it for the last week. Feeling that first and second gear completely smooth boost made it all worth it.

thanks to:

open it. load stock ls.bin. subtract fuel until you are close to the 450cc injector formula you should have made (based on rpm). save. burn. go

Congratulations.

My setup is done, pretty much same turbo but on a GS-R. My ecu doesn't like being chipped for some reason tho. Gonna be running uberdata as soon as the ecu decides to cooperate.

EDIT: Just noticed you have 10.5:1 compression.. I have 10.6:1

Funny you say that, my brothers car was excactly the same untill yesterday. We tried leaning out the fuel (basemap was at like 9:1) and it still wouldn't rev. Turns out his ignition needed a bit of work. He was running an old-*** blaster coil, old-*** wires, and and old-*** cap/rotor. In the end it was just the coil, but the rest didn't hurt.

When you hit 5000-5500 does it still rev slowly, or is it like you're hitting the fuel cut?

it just sucks. it bogs like a ****. feels kind of like a fuel cut then it will go, then fuel cut then it will go. i hav a new distibutor/cap but my wires / rotor might not be good.

Hm. Wouldn't hurt to have the cap/rotor/etc done, but I think you're right.. your problem is in the basemap/tuning. Just take out 10% of the fuel above 5500rpms, we had to take 30-35% to get my brothers at 12:1. How many lbs of boost are you running btw?

Bah, you punk, you remember how much fuel I had to take out for your friend's basemap.

You probably need to take some out in the part throttle range; Blake (himself), Todd and Atlee have all suffered high speed glazing of their sparkplugs due to overly rich mixture melting into the ceramic as you go into boost instead of the plug cleaning itself off. Every 500+ miles the car starts feeling weak, and changing plugs temporarily fixes the problem.

For Atlee's D16Z6, there's 20-40% less fuel in the part throttle maps base recurve, and it doesn't seem to be killing plugs any longer.

Good to hear your **** runs. LS's rule

i dont understand why the partial throttle maps would matter im going wot from 3000 to 7000 and at 5500 it bogs.

Sam, the part throttle richness can create a momentary hesitation/bog on tip in. Even once you have leaned it out a touch your fuel can be too rich and still cause high speed glazing of the spark plugs - even if closed loop is functioning, you can tap the O2 input (D14/wht) and watch the signal with an o-scope... 75%+ dwell time on 800+ mV. Too damn rich.

You are correct that the 5500+ rpm bogging is due to the boost fuel being too rich, and that that is a seperate matter. I knew you were already familiar with that, I was just spitting out a few tips at 2am before I collapsed from exhaustion and went ZZzzzZZzzzzzzz. You know I love you, and if you had a 14 y/old sister I'd try to marry into your family.
