I just had an aftermarket alpine deck installed. And since then i've had 2 instances where my car wouldn't start. I got the deck installed on tuesday afternoon, went to work at 2, left for lunch at around 7 and my car wouldn't start. Had to jump start it, let it run for a little bit to charge up the battery, then shut it off and went back in to work. I left work at 10:30 and it started fine and I went home. Now i went to work again today, it started up fine the whole day, then me and some friends were hangin out till like 1 am, i left his house, went and parked at a gas station, and got back in about 5 mins later and the car wouldn't start, had to jump. Any Ideas???? I have no clue, I never had a problem before the deck got installed, but i mean, its weird how its doing this. Could the battery need replacing? Any ideas?

 

its probly because installing the new deck you might of installed somthing wrong? or was it factory done?.. well neways it might be that or it also might be that you need a new battery because this deck is taking up energy also and your battery might be running on low.

 

does your cd player ever turn off, if your running amps i could see this drawing your battery down slowly. However, this sounds like a bad cell in the battery. It can happen to new and old batteries. Just can't hold a charge. Take it to advanced auto parts or somewhere similar and have them test it.

 

yea it turns off. I think it just may be my battery goin bad, i'm going to go pick up a replacement here shortly, we'll see what happends with that. If not, what else could it be besides the stereo?

 

Before you get a new battery, take it to a Autozone or someplace and have them test the battery first just in case its something else, but that sounds like the problem

 

might as well as check the alternator too.
