Default Can you run a hondata chipped ecu with out the hondata?

I want to sell my hondata and keep my ecu. Will I be able to use the ecu with out using the hondata blue box if I put a stock burned chip in it?

Sorry if it's a silly question. It's late and I gotta know quick.

Holy sh*t thanks for the pic. If I cut that, how will the computer revert to stock? I thought that the hondata chip replaced the stock chip. Does it just bypass the stock program or something?

cut the jumper, the ECU reverts back to stock, it wont read any add on. your ecu is chipped now. without the jumper it wont read it

The Hondata chip is an add-in chip, you will see it as the only chip not soldered to the board, but placed in a socket instead. It will read "29C256". You should pull that out and sell it with the Hondata, and when you cut J1 it tells the ECU to run from the stock ROM rather than the external one, which would be the Hondata chip.

Ok, so I don't see a jumper in there. WTF? I unplugged the blue box from the ecu and took it for a spin with my 520 injectors in there hoping that it would stall and die because it had too much fuel. Well, it ran fine. What can I do? this is what it looks like in there.

And Nix, here you go.

see where i circled at?? im pretty sure thats j1 on your ecu. it should say j1 on the board right next to it, your jumper just looks different than mine. make sure it says j1 next to it and cut it. it should go back to stock
