Default California Octane 92-91 Answer

I am not sure whether someone posted this before, but I found a memo sent to Unocal 76 stations regarding the change from 92 to 91 octane fuel in california.
http://rely.net/~dustin/fueloctane.html

Basically, everything has changed from 92 to 91 for sure, because I had heard some rumors that it had been 91 octane for a while and they were forced to change the labeling to 91. Either way, this still sucks. My car acts funny with 91 octane.

couple weeks back the chevron just changed its label to 91 octane, but my friend who works there said it was still 92 until they come and refill the tanks with the new 91.

I just started a thread in the forced induction forum about using Toulene as an octane booster...

California sucks. I want to move.

I should move back to San Jose, since the 76 by my parent's house has the 100 octane fuel.

100 octane might be over doing it a little

But it's a lot better than under-doing it.

isn't the 100 octane gas much higher priced than the 91?
