Default perfect compression test BUT............

Did a compresion test on my JDM ITR motor with toda a's and it came out 254,255,255,255, but when I get on it with each gear shift I get a touch of blueish white smoke. It is not all the time, Just some times, and only when I am really on it. Is this normal, I suspect I am running a bit lean. I am using stock R injectors, walbro 190 fuel pump, stock FPR, and skunk2 chipped ECU. MY VAFC reads +- 0 in all wide throttle settings until VTEC crossover @5300 and then it is +3 to cover for a little bit of leaness in the crossover that is typical with this program and then in the upper RPMS it is -2 from 6500 to 9000. SHould I be alarmed or any suggestions as to why this happens or firs step to fix it. I imagine increasing my static fuel pressure would help. Thanks guys. Jason

If you have good compression AND are burning oil, it is likely that you are leaking it through worn valve stem seals. You might try replacing them to see if it helps. This seems to be a slight problem with my B18C5 as well. It is using more oil than my B16A did. But compression is good. It probably doesn't help when these motors sit around for years before they are actually used.

Thats a good point about the valve seals. But, correct me if I am wrong, I thought the valve seals only made the motor burn oil when it's first started. Because when the motor sits it allows oil to leak past the seals and then burn off upon firing it up. But when the motor is running I kind of figured it wouldn't happen. Ma'yeb I am thinkng about this wrong

I've seen lots of cars do that when they are on it hard but I think that it means you are running rich.

rich=black smoke
oil=whiteish bluish smoke

You could of had oil in all your cylinder when you did the compression test and thats why they where so high. Oil seals the imperfections and makes the #'s go up

when my type R was all motor it did the same thing, i had a good compression check on it also, i dont run a catalitic convertor which will let more smoke come out the exhaust cause its not being burnt up in the cat.i dont know what oil your useing but theres a thread on the Type R forum(its older but it was like 20+ pages long) about mobil 1 and oil burning problems. i switched to castrol gtx regular oil and the problem oil ueage problem went away.

as for the valve seals they will just smoke on start up with a small puff like stated earlier. i just had my head rebult and replaced my 93,000mile no leaking valve seals with some brand new factory acura valve seals, since my luck rules i now get a nice puff of smoke on start up.

i personally wouldnt worry about it if you not useing a ton of oil and its just a puff and compression checks out ok.

Have you guys check your pvc valve. My car was smoking a while back and I thought it was the piston rings so I did a compression check and it was good. I later found out that there were oil going through my intake manifold.

ditto, you are getting high crank case pressure at the high RPM then pulling a high manifold vacuum when you close the throttle to shift. You are probably sucking the oil vapors through the PCV system.
