Anyone know much about PYR Racing or thier Cams?

I've heard good things about them.Peter was the OG being all motor head,so he must know a thing or two about cams

Yeah. Peter does know his **** about all motor cars (he tuned my Hondata), but something about the guy just makes me feel uneasy.

 

SCREW PYR AND PETER&gt;&gt;&gt; !!!!
He took a perfectly good head that I sent him off my 2000 model B16B engine and pretty much fucked it up !
SCREW HIM ... he ported the head ... it looked "OK" ... but he cut the valves all FU@KED UP.. when I got the head back ... did a leak down test .. none of the vavles that he cut sealed ... almost like he didn't lap them in ... I called and he said "..just run the engine ... the valves will seat themselves.... " .... SCREW THAT!!!
I paid him a lot of money for a port and polish job with a valve job ...
I had to take the head back off ... sent it to a different machine shop .. and had the valves done CORRECTLY !
Aftewards .. the leak down test was good ....
I wouldn't let that **** tie my freakin' shoes ... never again .. I should just have sent my head to PortFlow ... and had it done right ...
Peter Yem ? ...I WOULDN'T buy water from him if I was dying of thirst !!!

Do any of you know their number? or anyway i can get the valve lash for the Stage3 cam they have? It has 270 duration... tahts about all the specs i have on it.

 

nevrmind, I got their number already and called them. I talked to him. he seems to know his stuff. They are cool on my list Nice guys

being a nice guy .. and doing good work are two different things ... when I called him the first time .. sure, they seemed like a very knowledgable group of guys .. they were very helpful on the phone ... that's why I gave them my bussiness in the first place ....

but in the end .. I got the SHAFT ! ...

I'm from Houston, Tx PYR is a good shop, Peter started off from Cali, and then moved to H-town, if you need more refrences, post up on the forum of www. houston-imports.com, I think Peter even posts there every once in a while. Good Luck!!!
