Smoke from exhaust!!
I've had this B18b for about a year and its been great until about 3 months ago. I noticed that the power of the car was not the same from when I bought it. It may be the fact that I am used to the car and need something faster or there is something terribly wrong. There was also a lot of smoke from my exhaust everytime I shift or press on the gas and I felt a big draw back when reaching high rpm. It had a rough feeling or when pumping in gas but no acceleration. Well after I took it to my friend, we found that the seals on the head were damaged and the head gasket needed to be replaced, even though there was no oil leaks. we also adjusted the variable timing on it too. It now feels great but, still smokes from the exhaust. Does anyone know what it could be? We are thinking the piston rings, but would it be cheaper to get a new head or change the rings?
how often do you go through oil (check it every time you fill up)...rings might be going bad, thats what happened to mine...could be time for a rebuild.
thanks for the advice people....
yeah I was thinking I might have to re-build it. Like I said the previous owner used NOS. i think I still have some nos equipment still installed.
