cruise control not working after installing AEM CAI
hello fellas, gotta question for you. do any of your guys' cruise controls don't work after installing an AEM CAI? i doubt that it was the fault of the CAI, but rather something i did. i have reset the fuse for the ecu fuel injection as well as the fuse for the ecu cruise control. i have tested the cruise like 10 different times at 10 diffent speeds and it will not work anymore. i have previously used the cruise only one other time before this, but it still worked nonetheless. if anyone has any suggestion for troubleshooting, i'd really appreciate it. thnx guys, later.
Make sure your vacuum lines are connected on the main cruise module on the firewall. It has the large cable which connects to your throttle body. I broke one of the nipples on the vacuum tank and my cruise would lite up and engage but could not maintain speed..it would just drop off like I never set speed. Matter of fact I still have lines which I believe are not connected properly. Let me know what year car and make of CAI. Maybe we can resolve these CAI issues once and for all. If anyone has photos of an install of a CAI on a 94 -97 Accord please let us know.
hey iVTEC, i have pics if you would like them. i also took pics before i did anything to my car but they're not detailed enough to see where each specific vacuum line goes. i was pretty damn certain that it was indeed my cruise control vacuum hose that was missing but just wanted to double check. i have the upper line connected to the cruise control servo but not the bottom one so that explains why it's not working. i just don't know where the lower vacuum hose goes. i have a pic that shows where the hose was, just not where it should lead to:

here's another pic:

thnx for your help guys. later.

The hose that u removed connects to the nipple on the intake manifold underneath the hose u can see connected. Basically, same connection as the connected hose, just a step lower.
How did u setup the CAI. I was left with some modules and vacuum lines that I didnt really know what to do with when the CAI went in. Kinda did some patch work..may not have been correct. Let me know how you hosed yours on the CAI side of the car.
Also disconnect that black hose going from the valve cover to the CAI. Rather put a breather on the valve cover and cap the hole in theCAI.

basically you just rip everything that attaches to the stock air system. get rid of that big *** resonator behind the bumper and ****. i'll take pics of everything that should be removed tomorrow. too dark outside to take pics of now. thnx for the help man. btw, i've heard breathers are bad and my car's working great as it is. cya.
my upper line is capped off. that's supposed to be capped off because that led to the air control something or other associated with VTEC engines and was removed when cai was installed. it had to be removed because the cai would not fit without it's removal (that, and the instructions said to remove it)

do you think that it could be possible to send copies of the instructions or post them...my crap didnt come with thats why i created hell for myself...you've actually helped me now understanding that i need to cap these lines off. Any more info u can post up would be a god send. thanks man!!!!
i will take several pics of the engine tomorrow from all different angles. it would be easier to do that instead of scanning in all the pages of the directions. the images speak more than the directions anyways. we'll get this figured out man, don't worry. cya later.
UPDATE: MY CRUISE CONTROL IS NOW WORKING PERFECTLY!!
I reattached that lower vacuum hose along the firewall to the throttle body (right below where the upper hose attaches) and it works perfectly. I tested the cruise at varying speeds and in various gears, and it worked flawlessly. I have taken many pics to show what I've taken out and what it looks like with AEM CAI installed. The pics are as follows:

i ripped my cc out, worthless pojunk
dam, i almost did not recognize it as a 5th gen, since i had relocated my battery to the trunk and my intake has only one bend in it

iVTEC: the pics appear just fine. i've had 2 people confirm it already.
i've somewhere else claiming that breathers do nothing, and if anything, do more harm than good.

Can u provide answers to these problems:
(1) a count on lines that you capped off (maybe photos too pls!!)
(2) did you unplug that module on the factory intake and leave it unplugged
(3) how did you correct the line that coolant flows through (fabricate a line??)
Thanks for the help!!

Is It a complicated process of removing the stock airbox and installing a AEM CAI. Or is it just follow the instructions and youll figure it out? I have already removed my resonator and that was easy, but do you think i should install it by myself? If it is complicated let me know some of the things i need to do that are not on the instructions.
Thanks.
Thanks.
took me 30 minutes to put mine on ....... watch what you are doing though so if you need to put your stock intake back on you know where your hoses go. It is easy enough anyway.
