mini me no vtec.....what will it feel like
i have a boosted mini me and haven't had the time to hook up the vtec. the car stops pulling at about 500rpm. is my problem that i don't have vtec hooked up or that my turbo is reaching the end of its effeciency range? the turbo is a very small garrett t25 with a .42 or .48 a/r. thanks guys
its your turbo for sure. I've got a d15b and while its not a minime i don't have the vtec hooked up and i still get power throughout the power band. oh do you have a boost controller and a blow off valve or is your turbo just constantly blowing air into the intake?
also, it could be my tune. i think that the timing maps are really conservative and may be too retarded under boost. i don't have an aftermarket boost controler but the stock one is set at 10psi. and the bov holds it there with no creep. thanks
could be anything over 80% throttle and the ecu doesn't read the o2 anymore so it won't know the a/f and it just dumps fuel in there, try upping the fuel pressure if you can, or do some half throttle runs and see how that is
the ecu is set to go into open loop at 60% throttle. i have noticed that when i am accelerating and staying under 60% or thereabouts it has more power than if i just floor it at wide open throttle. i'll try making a few more runs and see how that feels.
what other mods have you put on. Do you have an AF meter hooked up, or can you hook up a voltmeter to the o2 sensor. It sounds like the mix just isn't right, specially running 10 psi. Good idea not hooking up the Vtec yet though, I read somewhere that most peeps boostin vtec use adj. cam gears to dial out the overlap.
its ur vtec
even thosd u are boosting it.. the cam isnt designed to pull til that high even with boost...
i say make some sort of vtec controler and try it.. u will defenetely see a big difference
