my car idles normal, but when i push on the brake while its at idle it'll jump from 6-700 to 1200 and drop down to 3-400 and then go back to normal (6-700). is this something bad?

*edit* this happens whether the engine is cold or hot..

 

kinda sounds like a vacuum problem, all your hoses connected where they should be?

 

Could be possibly a leaky brake booster also but like he said above would be a vacuum leak....

 

could be the idle air controller...

does that car idle high when it first starts up?

I dont think its the IACV it only happens when he pushes the brakes down when my IACV was bad it did it no matter what but to check it just umplug your IACV and see if it still happens if it does its not the IACV if it doesnt then it is the IACV or well otherwise known as the EACV.
