Default lsvtec startup

i had my lsvtec in a 89 hatchback a year ago i took the engine out and it sat in my garage for about a year till i found a 87 crx. before starting the engine in the cx i changed the oil. all of a sudden when i rev it past 5500rpm bluish smoke comes out. what could be causing this and what can i do to fix it. do you guys recommend i check the compression or anything else. thaks guys.

bluish smoke = burning oil.
