Vouch for EXEDY clutches?
I just ordered one for my 95 gsr engine. I was told they make clutches for honda and some aftermarket companies too.
Just curious what people had to say about them ?? Thanks in advance

You can already vouch for Exedy's quality... your stock clutch is made by Exedy. That was even confirmed by my friend who handles the performance parts division of my local Acura dealer.
Don't take one person's bad experience and automatically assume all of their stuff is crap. There are many things that could have happened that isn't Exedy's fault. Maybe the install was done poorly or some original parts were reused when they were supposed to be replaced. Some of the so called "speed shops" around here have been known to rip people off by using old parts, then keeping the new stuff that comes in the kit for themselves.
I know at least one person who's had great results from the Exedy organic racing clutch for the past year that he's had it. I've even raced in his car and there's no indication of anything wrong with it.
I just bought one this afternoon, and I don't expect any problems, based on the good reputation that Exedy has, and the experiences of myself and people that I know.

I've got an Exedy clutch and I've had no problems with it in 10K miles. I am running a stock B18B1 with a 12.5 pound flywheel. If you are running higher than normal HP, then get something stronger. If you're stock or stock plus I/H/E, flywheel, stuff like that, you'll be fine as long as it was put in correctly.
yea its a bomb *** clutch, i think mine is slipping or needs some adjusting, but i definatly love it , plan for my next clutch to be an exedy also, right now i have the organic i wanna get the cermitalic next i think, but i have about 20k on mine it grips nice i just think it needs some adjusting, if not then it is slipping but its taken alot of abuse , specially since i tuaght two idiots how to drive stick and they burnt my clutch all day long
Exedy two
Exedy two
Which one are you planning on getting?
I had the Organic (OEM replacement) on my b20vtec. I put about 19k on it before the disc cracked. Its a good stock replacement. It has good pedal feel and good clamping. If you are planning on doing a bit of drag racing of planning on some hefty mods, then I would not get the Organic one.

My exedy is holding up. It's a little more stiffer than stock and grabs well. It's consistent and I know that all the parts are brand new. The bearing I got with my Exedy kit is the same as the one that's sold at Honda and Acura dealerships. Some other clutch makers are use remanufactured diaphrams.
I put mine in last night, along with a 9.7 lb flywheel. It's pretty nice. It obviously grips pretty good, but you can be pretty smooth with it after only a small amount of getting used to it.
cool, phew, sounds like i did ok then. Mine is the stock replacement clutch. Its the organic one too.
I am running b18c1 I/H/E, w/ stage 2 cams and skunk2 intake mani.....I think it should hold up nicely
thanks guys

I do. It's definatly overkill for my setup (bolt-ons and recently Toda A's), but I haven't had any problems with it. With my 7 lb Clutchmasters FW, it takes some getting used to..tends to shudder if you don't give it enough gas when taking off. It also doesn't seem to like being slipped to much, makes an interesting noise. I really can't say anything bad about it though. I have about 10k on it.

I have this kit with the organic disc. This clutch is alot smoother then the OEM plus it grabs much better. The clutch makes a weird noise when first install, but after the break in it was dead silent.

what was the use of that pict we cant even see what the disc looks like
my experances are very good with exidy clutches never had a bad one i have installed over 100 of them ..... just make sure it comes with a made in japan bearing .. some of the companys put a cheap one in to make more money ... i try to stick with a koyo bearing and have very few problems with them

Sorry I had to leave to work before the tech took the plate off. But he said that the disk is still good and the plate had no glazing or bent teeth.

ive had both(organic and cerametallic) organic was full face, smooth engagement, easy to drive. cerametallic was pretty hardcore. Hard *** engagement, it was 3 puck i believe, and definitly did not liked to be slipped. It was on or off

and lots of it.
