Default clifford vs. viper

they look like basically the same thing to me. im talking about the viper 790xv and the clifford matrix rs3. what are the advantages to one vs the other? all i could tell from clifford.com is that it is much more expensive. i just got an eg coupe and i want to protect my investment the best that i can. thanks.

Same Dam Thing. Those alarms are NOT all of that. The Pager Range isn't that good, when u are inside buildings, but it's nice to have. They both just come with the basics, Door Pop and Kill Switch, make sure u add the Fuel Cut off, and Glass Sensor and Extra Kill switchs wired all around the car, don't forget the club and autolocker.

they're made by the same company, DEI, so they're essentially the same thing

Nowadays, basicaly the same thing. Both Directed Electronics products.
It all comes down to different features. Just pick the one with the features and options you need.

I typically hook the alarm to the factory horn instead of the siren because I'm a lazy bitch lol. the truth is some newer vehicle's there is just no damn room under the hood or the fire wall is a big bitch. Plus personally I like the factory sounding setup. This way if someone *IS* planning something they'd either realize it's a factory alarm and decide not to screw with it, or they'd be looking for a factory alarm and take up "valuable" time looking for something that isn't there

the xv790 has starter disable keep in mind the mire switches you install the more potential problems you will have an alarm is a deturant that is all if they want the car they will get it
with the increasing #of alarms out there the less people listen to them
if you want a car tow it. the alarm is going off so what it must have been parked in the wrong place or it won't start
just put in the basics andenjoy your car
you do realizethe 790 has remotestart the 690 is the same without remote start
been doing alarms for 15 years I have seen it all

They are the same alarm. If you are going to buy one, make sure you get the newer version Clifford Matrix RS3.5 or Viper 791xv both just came out yesterday.
They have some new options like 1 more aux output, turbo timer and defroster output. The best thing is the new way better looking remote with belt clip. The Clifford is carbon fiber look and the Viper a nice blue.

The Clifford Matrix line is exactly the same as the Viper's besides cosmetic stuff (led, siren, name on brain, sticker on remote, stickers for windows, etc.) The Concept and Intelligard line are now made by dei, but are unique to the other DEI products.

I have the viper and I totally love it. I feel safe, I still wont drive certain places, but its nice to be paged and made aware that someone is within 4 ft of your car. If you get the viper, get it with the proximity sensor.
