Integra CD Player Install
I have an Alpine Deck i wanna install into my 98' Integra. I wanted to hear from people who have installed their own deck how difficult it was. Its gonna cost about $70 bucks just to have it put in at a local shop. I've seen tutorials using duct tape, but I don't want to use that. Anybody with experience?
very simple to install the radio. go behind the console so u can see the back of the radio. at the end of the radio on the bottm side their should be 2 screws. u can either use a 8mm socket or a phillips screw driver. once u remove the screws, pull the stock radio out.
then unplug the harness and antenna from the radio. then get the new harness adapter for 86-98 honda and get the alpine harness and connect the wires together according to colors. if u have any extra wires that arent connected, make sure u tape or cap thew top so it wnt short anything.
next, get the cage or the metal shroud and stick it in the din hole. then use the screw driver and press on the cut outs so it will fit securely. next plug the harness together, and plug the harness into the radio, then connect the antenna back and stick the radio in. for alpines, i think u can have very lil screws that hold in the radio.
any questions?

any tips for getting to the back of the console? I can get my hand in there barely but i dunno if i can actually maneuver enough to unscrew those screws. Any ideas?
i always either used a long *** screw driver, or a bendable extension for a drill and used a 8mm on it. try both passenger and driver side floor and see which is easier to get to

yea I think i'm going to have to pick up a dash kit, I got the Stock CD player out but I don't see a metal cage/shroud to slide the alpine into? It looks like the only thing holding the stock cd in was those 2 screws in the back. Does the dash kit keep the little slot container thing below the stock deck? I'd like to keep that if possible.
an easy way to find you speaker wires on the wire harnes is to get a 9 volt battery and hold one wire on it and touch each wire to the other terminal untell you hear a noise in you speaker.

what's your point? he has a wiring harness, he's not hardwiring, and the cage should have came with the alpine radio, if you dont have one, you'll have to swing by your local stereo shop and pick one up, probably about 10 bucks, shouldnt be too hard to find, just find somewhere that sells alpine
