B16a, Pr3,Obdo pass emissions?
I have a B16a 1st gen in my 88crx si with pr3 ecu, obdo. Will my swap pass emissions? If not what do i need to do to get it to pass emissions?
i tshould, as long as you've got a cat on there and it's not running really rich.
If you can, lean it out a little it, that will help.
I had no cat and was running waaaay rich, no wonder I bombed pathetically

Are you using the correct single wire O2 sensors? There should be 2 of them up near the head on the exhaust. Make sure you are running both sensors also at the ECU. They should be at pins C8 and C16.
C16 is usually already there. You may need to add a pin at C8. Sometimes they may need to be reversed on some EF's in order to run correctly.

Best way to pass smog in CA...Go to a smog tech that you have helped and has helped you swap multiple engines into Hondas. Pass visual every time
so you just have to worry about the tail pipe. If i get sent to a ref im fucked...until i spend the loot to go obd 1 that is...

We don't have any visual checks here, only sniffer driving tests at steady-state at 40km/h under load on a dyno as well as an idle sniffer test.
My B16A has had some severe difficulty getting through. Usually I have to have a brand-new cat to pass, as well as loading up on methyl hydrate, retarding the timing, and other things.

Not really. Octane rating is a measure of a gas' resistance to detonation. Higher rating = less likely to preignite. There are also other chemical differences in terms of the chains of molecules and the purity of the product but it's not something a sniffer will notice.

as said above, it doesnt matter. I run 93 in my civic anyway. I passed in Delaware with my b16 running only one o2 on the pw0. It always seemed rich, but it passed with flying colors. It doesn't throw any codes though.
