turbo rebuild
hey im lookin to rebuild my d16a6(dont have teh $ for a swap) and go turbo i dont need to go huge with the boost im lookin for like about 8-10 psi. I need some recomendatinons for parts, turbo size andwhat to do with motor as far as bore and stuff like that. Im on a budget so any suggestions on how to keep it cheap would be awesome
well... not to let the cat out of the bag on my project but... i picked up a turbo (IHI RHb5) from a 626 turbo for $35, badass thing was that the manafacturing date on the turbo was 2000!! I also got a HF manifold for $25, a intake manifold for $40 and a head for $100... so thats $200 for almost everthing for boost!! I'm useing a modded GetthoDyne Boost program for when boost does come. Oh and above 10psi you'll need better rod, D-Series rods suck!!

what have you been living in a hole or something? with proper tuning people have hit 20psi on all stock internals(didn't last too long as they upped it even more), and there are plenty of 16psi daily driven stock rods and CR d16s, are you sure you know what your talking about?
