Blockguard bent my cylinder wall (heeelp)
I was working on the last part of my engine which was to install my blockguard. I filed it down to size. I had to tap it in with a hammer because it was a very tight fit. Well i figured out that my ring gap was incorrect so I went to take everything back apart to replace the rings. Well on the cylinder that had a tight fit because of the blockguard i noticed the piston was very hard to get out. Well when i went to install it again it wouldnt fit. Then I realized that the blockguard bent my cylinder wall. Even if I take the blockguard out the cylinder wall will still be bent. I cant even budge the blockguard so I have no clue how to get it out. Is this engine totally ruined. Any ideas?? Im thinking even if I manage to get the piston in there everything is going to crack to hell because its all pressed together.
can anyone help me with this? only thing I can think of is screw into the block guard and remove it. Then take the block back to the machine shop and rehone that cylinder. The other 3 seem to be ok because the pistons installed with ease. My only worry now is the integrity of the cylinder walls after being bent.
