wheel stud tap die size
One of the thread on the wheel stud is somewhat chewed up, I want to tap it instead of replacing. It is not even a quarter of a turn on on the the threads, I don't think tapping it woudl not be a huge safety issue, unless it is and I don't know it.
Does anyone know what tap die size I need?
or
Any real reason to replace the stud instead of repair?
TIA

should be no problem to chase the threads with a die

Yes, die thanks for the correction , I wasn't sure so I left it as tap die to make sure.
I've got 3 votes for M12 and one for M14, I will try the M12 first, if it does not work I can always return it and get the right one.
thanks
