Default B16a block with CTR psitons and GSR head

I've got a B16a block with JDM 0.25 0versized CTR psitons, this will be runnign with a OEM head gasket and a 1996 B18c1 GSR head.

I'm planning on milling the head by 0.02" to bump up the CR to 11.8/12:1, the head willhave CTR cams for the time being.

Will the valves end up hitting the pistons? Or will this build be fine?

Any advice is greatly recieved

well there is alot of arguing going on that it already has about a 12.1 compression and that the cspeed racing calculator is wrong, so u may want to hold off on milling the head until u find the truth

just curious why u chose a GSR head and not a b16 or even type R head? the b16 head totally outflows the gsr head...and seeing your all motor, every little bit counts.

Don't mill the head.. With the ctr pistons and the stock headgasket there is a .007 clearance piston to head.

I have the same combo gsr head 2/ ctr cams and b16a2 block w/ ctr pistons....When the head & block went to the shop they both were decked to clean them up(how much, don't know). Will there be timing issues because of that? I heard compression will be around 11.8 ish.....This is not going to be ran on the street. I choose a C1 head because at the time i thought it was better than a b16, but the numbers arent too off so im satisfied with my choice. I know there are some advantages for running a c1 head.

Where you getting your info.?. Last time I checked a b16 head didnt outflow a b18 head.. Check flow charts before you give false information..

yeah , last time i looked they are really close, but u can get more compression using a gsr head in that combo.

I flowed the b16 and the gsr heads side by side. The b16 out flowed the gsr by quite a bit on the intake. The gsr barely outflowed the b16 on the exhaust side.

Is that because of the intake manifold? Put on the skunk intake and and then do it.. that would chance the results altogether..

regardless of flow numbers the gsr head makes more power. any good porter is gonna want the head with the most material on it so he has stuff to work with. thats why alot of peeps use b16 heads. but the b16 heads to outflow a gsr head on the bench...
