Default B18c1 block, B16 head, ctr pistons

SO I know that CTR pistons in a b18c1 (w.e.) have risk of hitting valves from what i've read. Now I have a b18c1 with a b16 head, and aftermarket headgasket (idk what brand because I got it w/o wrap, my friend gave it to me). I compared it with an oem one and its thicker and doesnt bend as much so I'm thinking it will lower compression. With all this am I running risk of still hitting valves if I use ctr's?

Sooooo . . . . . . without knowing what cams you have, how much the head has been milled, how much the block has been milled or how thick the head gasket is, you want us to tell you what your clearances are? Does that about sum it up?

As posted in the hundreds of other threads on this - if you are in doubt, clay the motor.

Good luck.

Crap idk what to tell you.. I bought the swap like that. When I took the head off well i took it to the machine shop and just replaced valve seals and resurfaced the head... and a 3 angle valve job. Thats about all i kno. OK the person that sol me the head said it had type-R valvetrain. The guy who did my head at the machine shop told me I had some aftermarket valve springs thats about it. I honestly dont know how to tell what cams I got.

The Block is um well stock and I need to take it to the machine shop as well.

So I guess its like you said to clay it.. if what i asking for is clearance lol then yea no you cant answer w/o specs and my bad just thought otherwise.. Thanks..

Its the only way to be sure. If you search, I know there is at least one thread that walks you through the process step by step. Remember to force it to use the VTEC lobes or you won't accomplish anything.

Again, best of luck with your project.
