Default Enigine Codes

I installed a new clutch and flywheel yesterday with one other friend, when we put the tranny and engine back together we re-attatched ever wire and fitting, or so we thought, but on the drive home my speedometer wasnt workin and then check engine light came on. It is throwing code 17 which is speed sensor electrical failure. Also the srs is continuoisly flashing while the engine code is bein thrown? What will i need to do or replace to fix this problem? Any help would be great. Thanks

Question...where exactly is the speed sensor..all we could find that even resemble a speed sensor was the reverse light sensor on top of the tranny...also what does the flashing srs light mean?

make sure you hooked it back up it is a three wire plug that connects to the speed sensor which is located on the top of the differental housing part of the trans. if you look just to the left and towards the drivers side of where the lower radiator hose fastens to the thermostate housing you should see the speed sensor. i work at a honda dealer and that is not a part that usally goes bad make sure it is hooked up. does the speedo in the car regester speed when driving? when you jump the 2 pin connector for codes the srs will flash steady. as long as the srs light doesn't come on and stay on after the key is turned on when you have taken the jumper connector out the srs system is fine.

Ok, car is being blatantly gay because now check engine light has gone off even thought i did not reset ecu...but the speedo- still does not work, i checked for the wiring connector to the speed sensor and if it was the correct one which im sure it was it is connected and looks fine, i still get no movement from the speedo- even when car is in motion... i think it is those damn electronic gremlins that we all love so very much

try clearing the code and see if it recodes for speed sensor. usally i haven't seen the speed sensors go bad on the 94-97 accords usally the actual speedo head goes bad. although usally they do regester some speed or just stick at a certain speed and don't move. so the needle doesn't move at all? it is stuck right on zero?

the needle won't move...even if i hit a bump...but the weird thing is that the check engine light goes off when i turn the car off and doesnt come back on until about 2-5 min after i start driving...but once again i get nothing from the speedo- the odometer and trip- do not work as well.
