Default Throttle body install questions/woes/review....

I got a 70->68mm TB and I swapped the sensors over..

The Questions:

My idle is slightly high(tried to recalibrate the tps sensor already) and the throttle cable adj. all the way out

It revs up to 1.5k till I come to A COMPLETE STOP.

My car smells like rotten egg, when it rev's up.

Fans don't come on as often.

Also the TB didn't have a line for the coolant so i "linked" them together w/ aluminum tubing and clamped it down. holds tight, its so it bypass the TB area... or should i plug the whole thing up on both sides?

And i have an extra "nozzle" the brass one on top.. what goes there?

also.. i think my gas milage has gone to hell..

the quality on the piece is great though.. pics below.

Please any help is appreciated guys.. thanks.

I'll give a review after.. but as of now..throttle response is great, butt dyno feels gains all around.. mostly 3k+

If you guy are wondering why i got this mod on a stock motor.. its b/c i traded it for a STOCK USDM TB + 5 Dollars. and 5 more for a tb gasket. it cost me 10 bux for this

Big thanks to the guy who traded me

i will be purchasing a portflow ported itr manifold, so its port matched.

where i looped the coolant hoses

Shot of the throttle cable adj alll the way out.

Would be nicer if there weren't so many problems. Not sure what to make of all that

I have a 70mm tb as well without the above mentioned. Connecting the coolant hoses to bypass the tb is fine. Only reason I connected them is to see if it was 'cooler' with the hondata gasket.

As far as gas mileage, hard to say, I have a semi-built motor with a higher fd and I still great gas mileage.

I did have a high idle when first using the tb, but I just played with the idle screw and it was corrected. Btw, I have a bbk tb, no throttle stick, no throwing codes.

You can just plug the top spout, most likely that is for obd 1 cars.

When you installed the TPS sensor you need a volt meter.

afaik, when u add a bigger throttle body the car will run leaner, u might want to get it re-tuned to take full advantage of your new mod...

you might even be running too lean right now.

I'm assuming you idle correctly when you've come to a complete stop. I"ve had the same problem before which I attributed to the TPS (it stands for throttle position sensor, no need to say tps sensor.. , that's like saying HIV virus or AIDS syndrome).. anyways I didn't have a multi-meter when I installed my TB and so I had to manually adjust the TPS until it wouldn't rev so high when coasting.. also what exactly do you mean the throttle cable is adjust all the way out? i believe if it's too tight you will see a fluctuating idle.. use the idle adjust screw to adjust idle.. i also had to adjust the throttle stop screw when I installed my TB, only because it closed a bit too deep into the bore and would stick on accel..

after manual adjustment of TPS, I ended up with a reasonable 'rev up' on coast which sort of went away after driving around like that for a while.. strangely if I reset the computer, this 'rev up' will re-appear only to disappear with some driving.

What i mean by the throttle cable is all the way out is its adjusted out to its max point(loose setting).

and i did recalibrate my tps sensor.

Did you check the map sensor?

As for the throttle cable mine is set up just like yours. I backed the nut all the way back so it was not even on the threads of the cable and then used the other bolt to tighten it down.
