Grassroots Motorsports Slot Car Nationals
For a little racing on a much smaller scale, the GRM staff is going to host a day of slot car racing on Saturday, Aug. 23, at a track here in the greater Daytona Beach area. I'll post a little blurb about the day below, and of course all Honda Tech people are invited. (Yes, it's free to run, and the main idea is to goof off some and have a little fun.) We even have some door prizes from American Honda, and a buddy from the company is coming down for the weekend. (Look for him on track soon in an ITA CRX.) If anyone has any questions, let me know.
And then for some "real car" racing, there's talk that some of us may run the Jacksonville Solo event the next day.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, the Grassroots Motorsports magazine staff will host the Grassroots Motorsports Slot Car Nationals, a hands-on, laid-back day designed to introduce people to the slot car hobby. The day will take place at The Race Place, a slot car facility located in the Daytona Beach area.
Use of the track and controllers will be free all day, and loaner cars will be available. Expect to see door prizes from Scalextric USA--a major importer and distributor of slot car cars and equipment--as well as Honda.
The Race Place is located at 1105-D Cave Avenue in Holly Hill, Fla., and may be reached at (386) 295-1371. Complete details, including driving directions, can be found at the magazine's Web site: http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com. A free sample of Grassroots Motorsports, the hardcore sports car magazine, may also be requested through the site.

David,
Off topic.
I wanted to say thanks to GRM for the support your magazine has shown the East Coast Honda-Challenge. The first was that 'news bulletin' in Dec. 2001, that is how I discovered the H-C. I would safely say every H-C racers subscribes to GRM.
Since Dec. 01, I have counted 7 articles/ updates and features on our series.
Thanks! Keep up the good work.
Good luck with the slot cars.

I think I learned about the ECHC in the same issue (about 2 months after I bought my race car, as a project).
Big thanks!

It has been really great to see coverage about people I know (in a distant sense through websites) in your magazine. Every issue I have bought recently has had more information then I know what to do with! Keep it up, you have another subscriber soon.

I love GRM too!
I actually mailed out my "subscribe me" card a couple weeks ago and am waiting for the issues to start coming in.
