Default Pics of my HID install, and Spoon muffler also!!

Thought some of you guys would like to see how easy it is to install HIDs into an RSX-S. not that the S matters.
Here is the box the kit comes in. It is Xenondepot.com 4300K kit. It should look like all the other Acura HIDs. but Steve said after they break in they will look like the S-2000 head lights. Im looking forwad to that.

This is the Hondata polyurethane intake manifild gasket. I'll install it next saturday. I'll try and document it as well. They say it is good for @4-6hp from idle to redline. The factory metal gasket transfers a lot of heat into the intake manifold.

Here is the Spoon muffler I got from IPSRacing, thanks again to Mike. He is the $hit.

This is the N-1 out of the box but still in its bubble wrap to protect it from the other guys in the shop who wanted to fondle it.

Here is the bumper off the RSX. I know thay say it is not needed to install, but let me tell you it is a whole lot easier to remove the bumper to remove the head light lens assemblies. sorry its blurry.

Here are the factory H-1 sockets with the bulbs plugged in. I got some new factory sockets for like 3.00 or so. I trimmed them off with a dremel tool.(Thanks to Josh for letting me take it home.)

This is how the bulbs look with the adapter I cut, It is held in place by the factory retainer wire. The rubber grommet that has the two wires in them fit tightly into the factory bulb cover.

This is what the bulb cover should look like when you sqezze the rubber grommet in place inside the factory rubber seal.

I mounted the ballasts under each lens assembly. I used two screw holes that are under each head light lens assembly. I did hace to snap off some tabs so the ballast would sit flat. The screws in the kit are to small for the holes so I used four, two per side. Honda mud-guard screws. And the double sided tape supplied in the kit.

I read a lot of posts that wrote about the biggest trouble is grounding the relay that powers the ballasts. This is a pic of the pass side ground location. The leads off the ballast are not to be lengthened. I attached the lead to the factory ground near the water pump. it was a perfect fit.

This is a test shot before I secured all the wiring and the relay.
They had allready warmed up, there is a better pic with a stock RSX next to mine.

This is the drivers side, You can barely see the wiring and the ballast. And yes it is the DC-Sports CAI.

The positive wire from the relay goes to the battery, and grounded the other ballast to the battery itself. I also trimmed a little out of the factory terminal cover on the positive side for the lead I attached.

This is the comparo pic. Stock on the left and my 4300K kit on the right.
I will post some more pics when I aim them tonight.

My Spoon Sports N-1 muffler...I know the car needs a bath but it has rained like every afternoon for the past two weeks. Thanks again to Mike at IPS.

Attention to detail, they spot tig weld the knut inside the insert. Thats way cool.

Here is the pic from behind. The car is not lowered yet but it still looks great IMO.
I am not worried about the tag. I have only had the car for three weeks and am getting a new tag in the mail.

Well thats it. I hope that helps. Besides I also wanted to post the first pics from my new Fuji Finepix 3800.....got it last night.

They were 399.99 plus shipping. Not bad IMO. They also have 5000k and 6000k kits. But the higher you go over 4300K the light glares. and you loose lumens or the amount of light the bulb actually makes.
I think the 5000K kit is 20% less in brightness than the 4300k.
If you call Xenondepot Steve will give you all the help you need.

even though it will be a pain in the ***. you need to resize those pics. u are just waisting wtdr bandwidth and making this thread take forever to load. most people dont even have big enough monitors to see the whole pic without scrolling.

600x400 is plenty big
