Painting a door question...
Someone tried to break into my car, while doing so they broke the handle and put some nice dents in the door. My question is, I found a nice door but its red and my car is black. If I stripped all the paint and sanded it down and prepped it for paint. Is it possible to spray paint the door and make it match the rest of my car ? Or does anyone know how much a shop would charge just to paint a door ? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If you're not concerned with the end product, try doing it yourself.
If you are try going to body shops in your area and getting estimates.
The price of labor is to regional to get an accurate gauge here.

I had the same problem except my door was hit by a truck I got a flawless blue door from the yard and primed and painted it but it just didn't resemble the rest of the car. It looked alright for a diy job though. If the rest of your car is in good condition a good body shop should be able to match it up. But if your current paint is all swirly or a bit faded or even scratched at all your door is gonna look much newer.
Well my paint looks brand new, here is a pic to show you. I might give it a try or is there anyone in or near Chicago that wants to hook me up on a price to paint it ?
is it original paint? if it is, you should just be able to go to some local auto parts stores with the paint code and they should be able to mix up the paint so that it should match pretty good. black isnt a hard color to match anyways.
Listen the job of painting a door to match the rest of the car should be left to someone who know s what theyre doing....But you can do all the prep work yourself n pay much less.... First you should scuff down the door( inside n out) this means taking off th epanel n handle and then taping it off.. You can probaly "cut in" the door yourself( this means do the jams n stuff, Just in case) but as far as the blend to the other panels you would have to also wet sad the other neighboring panels ... as far as a color match goes ...If u have the paint code it will make things a <U>million</U> times easier!!!!but if not a good painter will have to go by sight and do a spray out to make sure its the right match...REMEMBER!!!! ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT THE PAINTER DOES A SPRAY OUT OR ELSE THE BLEND WILL BE SHITTY AS HELL!!!But other than that man remember to take off all the moldings, bag n tag them ...The price shouldnt be that much NOTHING over 200....Good luck
