I just swapped a d16y7 into my 91 lx and having a problem with it running really rough and backfiring, and if I give it gas it bogs and backfires more. It starts up easy but adj. the dizzy doesn't help out enough when I turn it. No CEL comes on at all and I'm using the pm6 ecu. The only thing I can think of is the timing may be off but the engine ran fine in my friends car when he pulled it and it was never taken apart when it was out. Also I get this strange loud popping banging sound coming out of my aem cai. It's got a cam gear so maybe I try adj. it some and see what happens.

Alright, I changed the throttle body since I was using a 70mm zc tb and went back to the z6 and when alot better and then I was trying the throttle and notice some smoke and didn't really brother me since the exhaust wasn't completely attached, but I turned the car off and notice something glowing redish orange and thought my car was on fire so I quick threw some water on it(behind the engine/under the intake manifold). I looked under the car and notice the cat was glowing bright orange and wonder since I just never noticed it before when the heat shield was on it does it always glow like that? Now the car is throwing a code 10 (IAT) So maybe I thought that maybe it melted the wiring but looked that over but no luck. Maybe when I dumped the water on it, the sensor got water in it or the plug? I'll wait for awhile and try it again.
