Default question about stage 3 cams???

A friend told me that using staging 3 cams, such as skunk2 stage 3, like to be reved out like ****. Well I heard that the valve train doesnt like to be driven on a regular basis, (everyday daily driving). I drive close to 25,000 miles a year. I go back and forth frrom SD to LA cuz I go to school there. I drive the back to SD every 2 weeks. Im using skunk2 stage 2 cams right now and I want to know if it would be reasonable to go up to a set of stage 3's, (not sure what yet). Pretty much, Im asking if there's anything wrong, or if my motor can last if I go with bigger cams than the skunk2 stage 2's.

ur motor should be fine.....it can be a daily driver...its not like u reving the **** our of it for 25000 miles...so u should be ok if u get a pair of satge 3 cams....just make sure u get the valve train for it so u can make power at high rpm's

i dont think you will gain that much with a stage 3 cam if you have a street app motor.... you might even lose power.. just something to think about it... stages 2 cams are very well for the streets. and i dont see a reason in swapping unless you are pushing to make like 240+hp

i know someone with a jdm itr bottom end, ported head with smsp header and hondata. he went from stage 2's to stage 1's and only lost a lil bit of power.

i would stay with the stage 2's

i would think you need to be 2.0 and 12+cr to make good power with stage 3's

you probably can make more power with doing other things...

I think Im going to look in to gettin hondata and gettin my really sh*t tuned. My car is not making as much power as other motors out there that have close to a stock lsvtec

yeah, unless you have hondata or any other type of good tuning device, cam gears plus a good header (preferbly not a mass produced header)
then you arent making as much power as possible with your setup.

what other stuff do you have btw?
