When I boost in 5th gear I hear a ticking noise. It doesn't sound violent, like I would expect detonation to sound. I did a search and from what I read, detonation sounds like pebbles in a can, and pre-ignition sounds like "wump wump wump." I should be running pretty rich, and my timing is pretty conservative at -1deg/psi. What is this noise I'm hearing? Thanks.

maybe you're getting some "engine knock" which usually happens when you run to rich or too lean?
