greddy turbo kit on high mileage D16Z6, What needs to be done?
I searched for this but didn't find a whole lot. I have a d16 with around 100K miles and got a greddy turbo kit which I'm putting on after christmas. My engine now seems fine but might have rod nock. It makes like a clicking noise from the head, and I just got a valve alignment. I was thinking new rods and pistons. Are eagle rods the best and then which pistons? I heard that if you just run the stock boost level, no head work is really neccesary? thanks for helping a fellow honda man out!

it doesn't matter how many miles u have... just get a compression test to make sure everything is okay before adding more stress on the motor. Also if you think your rods and pistons are messed fix it. Don't wait until it's too late and it screws your motor even more just b/c u want to save a buck or two.

I know.... due high milage is anything above 175k!
now for a dometic 75k is call high milage and its time for a trade in before that sucker blows out on you...
yeah just compress test it. If the numbers look healthy your all set to boost. They should be in the 185psi range. they should also be consitant within 10psi of each other. do a leakdown test if your really perionoid about it.
