can an alternator solenoid valve FUSE preventing start???
My car turns over but doens't start...before i came to work today i pulled the alternator sol valve fuse and it was blown. Would this fuse prevent a car from starting??? I'll try to start it when i get home today but i was running late. THANKS
I think you mean starter.
No...I dont see how the solenoid fuse would stop it from starting if it was turning over. The solenoid fuse controls the solenoid that pushes the starter shaft outwards to turn the flywheel....if your car was turning over...then the solenoid was working properly.....I'm amazed it would be turning over if the fuse was blown.

If you mean fuse #14, Yes it will...
The check engine light will remain on while you are cranking it
if it is blown and the car will not start..

The fuel pump gets its power from that fuse..
Trust me,if that fuse blows,it will turn over, but won't start...
Don't believe,go pull it out and see if your car starts..

I stand owned.
But it doesnt make sense, cause the car will not turn over if the solenoid doesnt engage...you see what I'm saying?

I pushed my car over a mile because of that fuse...
If you fire your car up, and then pull it out,it will die..
If you listen closely, You can hear the main relay click out
when the fuse is removed..
Now let that be a lesson to ya...
Them Japs are trick-ee!

No no...that fuse controls the starter solenoid....if it doesnt work....the solenoid doesnt and wont engage the flywheel ...so the car wont crank....unless its marked as the solenoid fuse and it controls the fuel pump....stupid japs.

On a Nissan truck,The fuse labeled "cigarette lighter"
controls the A/C compressor..Go figure that one out.

Yeah once i replaced it my car started right up...i have a hidden switch for the fuel pump which i turn off when i'm in ghetoville philly...when the fuse was blown my car did the same thing as if the switch was off for the fuel pump. You guys are right whats the deal with the fuses and who the heck is lableing them at the factory?
the "solenoid" they are refering too is the IAC valve solenoid.. the fuel pump also runs off this fuse.. the "starter solenoid" is not however fuses by this one.. you have thgem mixed up
