Strange Request - Fender to Hood gap.
I've got a strange request and I was hoping somebody could help me out. I recently got my R back from the body shop to fix some damage to the front end and replace the hood. The shop is very reputable and the car looks beautiful...but yesterday I noticed that the gap from the fender to the hood on one side of the car is just slightly larger than the gap on the other side of the car. It isn't anything big, and nobody would notice it (except me, I'm neurotic..)
Could somebody do me a favor and measure teh gap between the hood and the fender on their R?. I need to know what is normal. Strange request I know, but thanks for the help.

it is more than 1mm for sure - i noticed it with my untrained eye...
I will take it back and they will be happy to fix it, I just wanted to know what is normal so I can have that information going in...

A little trick is to loosen the three fenders bolts inside the engine bay then push the fender closer to the hood then retighten the bolts. Water will get in your engine bay if you do not fix the gap.
flux.
just checked out the helmzor.... .looks like i was incorrect, fender gap isn't shown anywhere in the manual, i believe it's in the body specific shop manual... oh well...
anyway, just make sure it's even everywhere..... and i have no idea what this guy is talking about H2O getting in your engine compartment.... uh, water finds a way in there no matter what...

Water will indefinitely get in the engine compartment from underneath, however, if your fender gap is too big, you will loose the seal and water will enter from the top. You will notice it when you wash the car or when it rains.
The hood position should be adjustable no? I know that guys that use CF hood often are unhappy with fitment issues and require mucho adjustment to get it right...
thanks guys - I think I will mess with it a bit to see if I can get it to where I am happy - if not, I'll take it back to the shop..
