You need to remove things in the following order:
1. Remove the center console (4 screws from the arm-rest part, 4 screws for the part close to the CD player)
2. Remove the cigarette lighter assembly (2 screws)
3. Remove 2 mounting screws from the CD player (it's back, bottom of the CD player)
4. Disconnect the 16P connector.

Do you have one with a radio. They don't come with a stock radio in Europe, right. So, it depends how the dealer or previous owner installed it.
I bouhgt the car when it was two years old, so i am not sure whether it was stock or not. The unit is a pioneer, which seems to come with a lot of Hondas over here.

EuroITR1689,
I have a stock head unit and speakers if you would wish to purchase them. I just upgraded my system and no longer have any use for the stock stereo. You can reach me at shockwave9@hotmail.com.

The stock head unit is a bitch to get out. I have to use a socket wrench to do it. Now that I installed a police scanner right under the stock head unit it's even worse. Can't wait to replace mine.

And I am going to obey the Honda rules.....
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE CONSOLE!!!!
I was able to easily remove the screws from behind, though you do have to remove the ash tray/cigarette lighter assy. Only took a few minutes.

I removed the stock stereo unit from my car by removing a couple of screws from behind the unit. It was a tight spot back there, but I managed. If it is a pioneer, it sounds like an aftermarket head unit, so you need some sort of special tool to pull it out of the metal housing used to secure most after market head units. You definitely dont need to remove your console. i had to put some stuffing material (bubble wrap) under the shelf tray to secure the new head unit, as I didn't have a filler thing or an equalizer to take the place of the shelf tray thing (under the head unit.).
