Transmission oil
I heard that redline oils are really one of the better tranny oils around. If i were to use redline oils. Which one should i use. Shockproof or just the standard 75w90 mtl oils. Thanks.
Please DO A SEARCH for your own good. Not trying to be a jerk but several weeks ago this topic must have come up a 1/2 dozen times or more and there was a lot of good INFO
HONDA MTF 3 quarts
Noisey Synchros???? Sub 1 quart with LUCAS Trans FIX
That's just the gist of it. Search archived threads with Transmission Fluid or Tranny OIL any of those.

Use 75w90 if you don't like your transmission. Honda trannys use 10w30-common motor oil in a pinch. I have seen more than one tranny cooked because an ignorant shop put 90w gear oil in.

Thanks. A friend was using Redline Lightweight shockproof gear oil and his kaaz lsd was making more noise than ever. So i just wanted to be sure before i changed any oils in my car.
A friend changed his tranny oil to redline 75w90. His ek4 shifting improved with no crunching at all. He is running kaaz lsd. Just some feedback. Thanks guys

Isn't it that a Different weighting system is used for Gear Oil and Standard Motor Oil?
I have seen "Gear Oi" 75 w 90 or something like that and it didn't seem any thicker than 10w30 IMO....
I haven't Seen anything thicker than the Lucas Tranny Fluid additive. Ofcourse you Dilute it with the Standard MTF. It Runs Fine in there and Quiets down a Noisey tranny.

What does the "friction modified" fluid help on?
I'm using GM basic synchronmesh fluid in my EM1 now. And it's pretty smooth when it's hot enough out there. Like around 23c or so. But when I drive to work in the morning, which is around 14c, I still have to be very cautious.

I'm using the regular GM Synchromesh too, in my R tranny. What's the difference in the two fluids? Thanks.

Lightweight Shockproof is Awesome stuff!!!! Ive only been using it for a week but shifts are smooth as butta! I may write up a full review after using it for 5,000 miles or so
A lot of Honda people dislike redline but thats only because they try the MTL. Hondas dislike redline MTL, and become notchy as hell if you use it from what I've heard.
