I'll be doing that with my turbo DA in December, when I have to renew the registration again for it. But fortunately for me, even though I live in So Cal, all of my cars are still registered up north where my family originally is, so smog laws up there are very lenient..... just need to pass the sniffer and you're cool. A guy I know passed in the same county with his turbo GSR (Drag kit) a year ago when I was still up there.... no real problems except that he had to lean his car out put on a new cat. I can spend a couple of hours taking my turbo off.... might anyways to sell it, but since I'm lazy I'm going to go for trying to make it pass the sniffer and see what kind of readings I get with my turbo.

Yeah..what exactly are the new smog laws in CA going to be like?
In reality, it's not 'that' hard to make a turbo car pass teh sniffer test. There are tons of factory turbo cars, and they all pass for a reason. Turbo doesn't = not passing smog. It's more the visual inspection that we go through that gets us.

Your car is going to be smogged on a dyno under a load. Which is going to make smog tests cost around $100 bux
