Default EP Owners and ppl who know about them..

Due to bad credit and the helpful ppl at my local Honda, I might be getting a 03 Si.

I just wanted to know what kinda potential it has going the NA route? I hear the motor isn't all that great. My friend who is an experienced drag racer/drifter could only squeeze a 16.3 out of it on slicks. I know i can swap other K series motors or go turbo but after getting the car I doubt I'll have that kinda cash.

Looks wise, it took some getting adjusted to but now I love it.

Anyway, thanks for whatever help/insight you can give.

Well 16.3's must be the conditions in Hawii cause over here people are getting 15.5's with minor mods and stock tires. The only things I have heard about an all motor route would be either a k20a2 (RSX-S), a k20a (Teg type R), or get the head from either of those and swap it on your K20a3. Other than that right now you can only get basic mods such as I/H/E and the Hondata ecu reflash that gives you alittle something. But if sub 15 sec slips are what your after then the turbo is a good choice, or maybe the Jackson Racing SC when it comes out. Greddy has a Turbo kit out now for less than 2700 and it looks like a great starter kit for a little boost, and when money allows its expandable. Just my opinions good luck..

Thanks man!

Know anything about suspension? I see that Tein makes a Basic and Flex setup for the EP. The Flex doesn't allow for much lowering, but the Basic does. Do you know of any other companies that make full coilovers for the EP?

Actually the motor is one of the best honda has ever made, and by far the best honda civic engine ever. This engine as an NA has major capabilitys. To start with if you get a comptech CAI, Comptech Headers, Skunk2 exhaust, you will already pull over 210 horse. If you put some nice tires on, and some good suspension to help you launch, you can definately get some good times in it. You can get a CRV top block on it then it will fly. Get some cams, and pulleys for it, Hondata Flash, basically possibilities are near endless with out a turbo, or swap, but I suggest getting a few of the things i have suggested here and you will be surprised. I hope this can help you. And tell whoever said it was a bad engine to go f*ck themselves, they dont know anything. Take care<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by B18Chillin &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Due to bad credit and the helpful ppl at my local Honda, I might be getting a 03 Si.

Woah buddy just so we are all on the same page what motor ar you talking about, that going to make 210 with bolt ons? Cause there is no way your going to get that out of the Si's K20a3, with bolt ons. And I do agree with you about the advancements in the Kseries engines, cause to many of the hard up Honda fans dont want to let the B series go, even though the technology was in need of an upgrade. But just wait for the aftermarket to step up and there will be N/A kits to make the K20a3 a powerhouse, the power is there just got to find a way to bring it out N/A..

I have ran against a new Eclipse gt, and was pretty even then started to pull on him, dont know how those compare with Gsr's though. I raced a guy at work with a 99-00 Altima, even gave him the launch, and I was passing him in 3rd and really pulling in 4th. Not the best scale on performace but I think I could hang with a gsr..

I have pulled on GSRS many times. I know with I/H/E you would kill one. Then again racing is about the driver. I was refering to both the type S and the K203 but both can be built, when people talk bolt ons they refer to IHE, but I include pulleys, cams, no cats, hondata etc. Trust me, I will show you a dyno sheet in a few weeks when I finish up a few things and you will all be surprised. But anyways, good luck with all of your cars in this discussion, and I think this was a good topic to bring up. If any of you have input on what spoiler I should get for my EP3. thanks

The Mugen grill fits both the stock and jdm bumpers fine. It just looks a little funky on the stock bumper
