Need e-brake help
i just put a rear disk conversion on my Civic hatch. i have everything connected properly. when you pull on the e-brake lever it pulls the cable. but the e-brake doesnt work. i havent gotten my MC or booster on yet since i got a 1" MC and 94+ booster and it wont fit. does the e-brake system work off the brake fluid at all? i have remanufactured calipers, brembo rotors, axxis pads, goodridge lines. anyone know what could be wrong? or is just simple since i need brake fluid for them to work? i was told they should have another piston solely for the e-brake that doesnt run off the fluid. so whats my problem?
my lines are from a 92 Integra. wouldnt i need shorter lines? theres some play when i dont have them tightened but after i tighten them it pulls the little spring until it hits the "stop bolt"
Wow, I'm having the exact same problem. Just put crx si rears on my 90 lx and I used a '93 gs 4 door cable. the length is fine and it looks like it actuates the lever on the caliper correctly but the e-brake isn't itself functioning. I'd also like to know if anybody has any insight as to what would be causing this. Someone said something about longer or shorter lines...wouldn't the fact the the cables bolt up to the frame and fit like a glove imply that these cables are the correct length?
