Default rebuilt engine how should i keep it lubed while its sitting

can someone tell me what i should spray/put in the engine while its waiting to be installed. It has been freshly rebuilt and i don't want to chance anything when i put it in. thanks guys

On a shortblock you should use wd-40 on the cylinder walls. Then bag it up and tie it off for storage.

just keep oil in it, and turn it over clockwise with a 19mm wrench on the crank pulley bolt every day/other day or so. this will make the oil pump pump oil through the orifices, and keep everything good and lubed up.

also, you might want to throw in a quart of lucas oil before you do this the first time, as it sticks on everything it touches for a long time. good stuff i used it as assembly lube when i built my motor.

thanks, thats what the guy who built the engine was doing. I just wanted to check up on his work.
