Default Found Perfect Hatch......BUT!..

.....Well my friend told me about a hatch for sale really cheap in a lot. We checked it out. Price was unbelievable 1800 for a 92 dx that runs good with pretty decent paint! That's about half of what eg hatchbacks go for around here. Peeked in the window.....OUCH, It's an Auto. Now i guess with the almost 2k i would save on the car i could spare some for a manual conversion. I've searched and read for over an hour now. Only have a small parts list and a few saved posts. I was planning on swapping b18C1 in the future from Hmotors. Since the swap comes with most of the parts needed for the swap.....it only leaves about 1/2 the parts needed. If someone could direct me to a list/price for each part i will need BESIDES the HMotors parts? I've heard alot of mixed reviews on the swap but the price and condition were worth looking into the swap. Just giving it second thought before i start searching for a 5 sp. I appreciate the help for a NeWb to tech.

PS. I DID SEARCH..........but could not find anything pertaining to my situation. Thx

a member just did a write up on a swap, check in recent posts. he did a gsr swap/conversion and it cost him a grand total of 5000.

and if you need those parts for your conversion IAS is for you.

I think you can find a better one than that. Take the money you'd save from the conversion and use it for gas money to drive down south and buy a rust-less hatch.

I "was" in the same situation. I bought a '93 Dx auto Phantom Grey for $1600..sweet deal! But it was auto, so I said to myself, just do the conversion and such. So I started researching like you have and the money that will be spent came out more than waiting and buying a 5spd. So I sold the auto'd hatch for $1900! Made $300 and found a '93 Dx 5spd for $1800. Moral: Just wait unless you have time and money for extra parts. Peace!
