Re: auto->5speed swap cost? (dontgivafuk)
I was thinking about doing this to my Sedan but I heard it cost almost about a G if you get it done at the shop. Labor is expensive If you can get someone to do it for you it might be a different story.

If you have all the parts already then labor (well my price) is 600. If you dont youll be looking at spending 1000-1600 (labor included) depending on what you getting.

Ermm.. well I got all my parts for free pretty much. Y8 Tranny was 250$ Only thing I have to pay for now are my bumps and bruises haha (my labor) And the new fluids and things. So it'll come out to around 300$ish? Just look around... I was patient and got some pretty good deals and my neighbor had crashed his hatchback so I got all his 5spd parts for free. But The average price would come out to anywhere around 600$ more or less.

you'll need a different tranny mount (mounts). You'll need hardlines, a master cylinder and a slave cylinder. So unless you picked all of that stuff up when you bought the tranny get ready to spend some money. It will be worth it in the long run. Autos are lame.

Re: (JDM-EJ1)
why dont you just sell yours and get a 5 speed?
if anything, your gona have to kick in like a g to get one but at least then its done and factory so you know its all good

How would it not be good if you did it yourself? As long as you put everything together as it was meant to be you won't have any problems. Mine was swapped, and drives perfect.
