Default volvo intercooler- modding to fit civic/crx

I got a volvo IC for free and I reallized that no normal shop could do what I want done. So I'm asking you guys fit you might know where I could find someone or place that could do it for fairly cheap..

Since it is of course too tall, I want it cut in half horizonally, then double stacked. So it would be twice as thick, but only half as tall... Here is the problem that the volvo IC creates... It had plastic end-tanks, so the shop/welder would have to basiclly make entirly new end-tanks ( not like most shops do and cut the fatory end-tank, then weld the new part on the old part ). I've thought about taking it to a radiator shop, but I wasn't sure if they would wanna deal with it..

Any comments help ( minus the "go buy a $400 IC" or " $200 starion IC would be better ". I know the other ICs are out there, but this on was free, and if I put $100 into it, then fine, I spent $100 on a good IC ( that's bigger than the staion one ).

Default Re: volvo intercooler- modding to fit civic/crx (jz)

I wanna double stack it if possible, I think I've seen one just cut in two, and only half of it was used..

A volvo owner reposted that this IC in stock forum, would have around 1.2psi drop @ 12psi... With my garrett, 60-trim I shouldn't have to run too much boost to get my 200whp goal on stock internails..
