will this work..

just do a compression check, get it to a certain psi (100) and let it sit and see if the number goes down.

is there a reason why this would not work. i know if i did have a problem it would not tell me where the problem is , such as my rings or my valve seels , but it would tell me if i had a problem. right..

I don't know about yours but my compression tester holds the highest number on the gauge until you press the release button. I dunno maybe you have a different comp tester though.

 

there's a one way check valve to let the air into the hose and not let it out I believe.

 

how is a leakdown test done properly? Or how is it suppposed to be done?

 

They way they did my buddies was they pressurized the manifold to see if it would hold pressure. He had a nicked intake valve, so it didn't. What type of equipment they use I am not sure.

 

ahh ok that makes sense. i did not think about the check valve. damn it. how much is the real test.
