Quick synopisis of my turbo install (with question and teaser pics!!)
Well after my agonizing experience with a spark manifold (long story..), I went ahead and coughed up an addition $400 for the turbo fund to pick up turbogsr's used Revhard mani and DP. Now the first thing I noticed when looking at the flange on the manifold, is that the 4 bolt-holes aren't "squared", rather, they're kind of off-centered so that the turbo doesn't sit perfectly parrallel but at a slight angle (pitching the nose of the compressor towards the radiator).
Now had anybody seen this before? Is this normal? The results of such an odd bolt pattern are as follows:
As you can see, the turbo (mind you this is a teeny-tiny T3) was ALL over the radiator fan. Now I know folks have had to trim their fan shrouds before, which I did.. but to no avail. The actual fan blades couldn't rotate without hitting the compressor
*sigh*.. another $65 and 1 slim fan later, I was able to clear up alot of room and solve at least 1 more problem..
Another oddity to the Revhard mani.. it sits seems to sit the turbo awfully far to the passenger side. Again, remember this is a small T3, yet upon installation, I had to clear the clutch slave cyl bleeder screw by less than 1/4"!! I don't recall reading up on this expereince, so strike another one up for Dave and his turbo-installation from hell
The good news, I was able to get the factory oil pipe off last night and install the GE oil feeder (pics to come soon). Took some work to get that bastard off, including removing the entire drivers side axel and mid-shaft as well as the oil sending unit so I could have space to get the vice grips in there, but once I did that...voila! Off it came and on went the GE unit. This allowed me to finally put oil in the car and check for leaks of which I did get from the fitting on the GE unit. A little teflon tape and a bath on oil for me, and I was able to start her up and let it idle for a few mins. No more leaks, no weird sounds, just turbo...... finally!
Almost there..

Lookin good, feels so much better in the end doing it all yourself (even when it gets tough).
Sorry, can't help on your question about mani.

Glad to hear you were able to get that oil pipe off and the GE unit on. Do you have anyplans for an oil cooler set-up? I am in the beginning stages of my turbo motor buildup(B16a) and also have the GE unit.
I'm just wondering if there are people out there using the GE unit with some oil cooler.
