Hey whats up all.... my friend was telling me about these check valves that are needed (if going custom turbo) to be installed inbetween the map senor and the manifold?? so that the map sensor doesnt sense the boost....

anyone know if it is nessessary, or if anyone can shed some light on this subject.

to hell with those check valves...get yurself some dsm 450's and a afc and then your good to go....factory like boost and plenty of fuel, i like it better than an fmu and check valves for sure....

Yea he's right they are standard with most drag turbo kits,kinda ghetto rigging to me just like FMU's.

 

you shouldn't get any check lites if u use a missing link but if u're using the AFC hack, the missinig link is not necessary but you will still get a check lite if you are obd2... obd1 is GOD, everything is perfect about it, lol...

 

so as long as i have an SAFC im good then?

 

do a search on the afc hack theres tons of stuff about it. The afc and 450 dsm injector combo is a good affordable method for factory like boost.

 

but isn't the FMU/check valve the cheaper way to go?
