hondata tuned boosted cars........what kinda gas mileage you guys get??
my car isn't tuned yet, but i'm running around on 6psi on a basemap........my setup consists of aem rail and reg. i have delphi 75lb injectors and a walbro intank........i'm wondering what i might expect outta this setup once it's tuned, it's on a b16a by the way.......cause right now i'm gettin about 50-60mpg on a half a tank......it's horrible
You can get the same amount of gas mileage you did when the car was n/a. Its all about tuning the non-boost areas of the fuel map and part throttle tuning. Most likely your tuner will street tune your car as well for you if you want good fuel economy.
Its not like your gonna be in boost 100% of the time
.
Those hondata basemaps are insanely super ungodly conservative.

ya i figured they are, just driving around my a/f guage is pegged rich all the time and the thing pukes black smoke, it's kinda quick, but man if it idles for too long it loads up bad........on my fmu setup on my b20 i managed to get 19.8 driving around town, boosted alot on that tank, can i expect better now that i have mangement?
Since building my motor, I ran an 8:1FMU w/ 310cc injectors for 3 months and got like 23mpg while boosting a good amount. Now i have 72lb injectors and hondata and after tuning my map I get around 30mpg, and that's with hitting full boost 3 or 4 times a day.
off boost potential on a turbocharged car, if done right can be as good or BETTER than factory depending on your setup.
iridium plugs, and upgraded ignition with a nice set of magnecore race wires will allow you to ignite leaner mixtures under part throttle thus better gas mileage.

With the FMU and 310cc setup I got about 15 mpg.
With the AFC hack and 450cc I got about 18 mpg
With hondata and 720cc injectors I get about 28-30mpg
I been through it all and a standalone is the way to go.

Had my car tuned in MI. On the way there I got roughly 18-20mpg. On the way home after tuning it increased to almost 30mpg
440's.
440's.
im breakin in motor right now so its not tuned at all yet.
im only shifting at 3k and not seeing boost, but still i only
get about 100 miles half tank. its horrible right now. hopefully
when i tune it it will be a lot better!
