well i installed the gsr radiator, i kept it to the far left, cut out the one ac mount and set it on the 2 stock radiator mounts, used a ef civic radiator mount on the top left and modified stock mount on top right.. got it all level and above the output on the head like i heard you were supposed to do... get it all running... next thing i know im overheating and the fan isnt kickin on
so i wire the fan to the battery with some wires really quick to make sure it works... and it does.
there is no bleeder screw on the the top radiator output on the motor so idk how id bleed the system like i did on the d series... i started motor, filled with fluid untill it wouldnt fill anymore and put the cap on... waited and waited and the fan wont kick on? so what could my problem be and how would i go about diagnosing it?
its a 2000 motor so i doubt that the sending unit is bad, what the hell is making this fan not kick on
any help appreciated, thanks alot

I have the same problem, but stock radiator and motor.
I was told maybe a new radiator cap. Its only over heated
once so im not all that woried about it. Temp stays below
half always, except that one time.

I was just having that problem. It would only overheat at idle and a dead stop. It turned out it was just a stupid fan relay. The reason it only overheated at a dead stop was because it didnt have any air running across it. Just put a relay on your ignition signal, so it stays on all the time.

anyone have any ideas on this?</TD></TR></TABLE> That wouldnt have anything to do with the fan kicking on. I would say its a short a fuse temp switch or a relay.

have the same problem, replaced the cooling fan switch. replaced the thermostat too (these are not expensive $10.00 - 20.00) just in case since my car is getting old ..

that happened to my friend's car when he changed his radiator recently, that's strange, if anyone has any info on how/what caused this happen and how they fixed it on thier cars, that would be great...
in the meantime, he just hooked up his fan to run constantly...you could also hook it up to a switch too...

well, i'm running a type-r radiator w/o a fan in the dallas-fort worth and its about 105 degrees on average with no overheating problems. i think you sure try switching relays for the cooling fan, because i had the same problem when i had my stock motor/radiator. hth.

whats the cooling fan switch and where is it located... i took off the coolin fan relay and only got power on the top right (lookin from front.. if lookin from the side*fender** its the top left and i hooked it the the one corresponding to it and the fan kicked on... i got no other positive signal from that relay so i figure its not gettin a positive signal when its needed... so what sends the signal to it so i can try to get this fixed
if you're car is heating up when stopped, that tells me that the fan is not working.
maybe you forgot to plug a sensor back in or fan connectors. check connections.

follow the bottom radiator hose ... it should lead you to the thermostat housing where the fan switch is also located. its a temp activated switch that turns the fan on at a certain temp.
