DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW QUESTION (90 Si)
Does anyone know what kind of black adhesive the factory used to glue the driver's side window glass to the two small white plastic clips on the window regulator. My glass keeps coming out of those clips because the adhesive has worn out.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

its something like butyl glue or something,
but if your talkinga bout the window that goes in the door, that isnt glue its more like bondo thats super ******* hard, once it comes off those regulators your kind of screwed.

The black stuff is rubbery and it was probably some pretty strong stuff while it was still sticking. Now that the glass broke free from it my window wants to fall off of the track every time I roll it down and slide down in the door. Great fun when you are placing an order at a drive thru.
Anyone have any suggestions on a seriously strong adhesive or maybe another alternative?
Thanks!

use bondo i dont know why it wouldnt work.

your window might be broken, and the previous owner might have tried gluing it to the plastic peice.
my window doesnt have that black glue, its pink color thing and it looks like bondo

haha that brings back memories. My window did the same thing. I tried every adhesive in the store. Finally when it broke loose the last time it fell so hard it shattered. Went to the junkyard and picked up one for $50. just bolts right in. no problem with it since then. Except all that dam shattered glass still in the bottom of my door. everytime i open the door there is a new peice in the door jam
So the glass that you bought from the junk yard still had the clips glued on and all you did was bolt the clips back to the regulator right?

try some strip caulk. You can get it at your local hardware store. If you know of any automotive paint stores try them, they usually carry stuff like that. If all else fails just take it to a glass shop, they can probably fix it for cheap.
How are they different??? 89 si had door mounted seat belts, and so did the 91. I know 88 Si was different. But I've never heard of the 89 and 90 having different windows. I called a glass company and the 89 Si and 90 Si have the same part numbers, so therefore in theory they are the same.
Well if your interested I have a drivers side window out of a 91 Si but it has some scraches on the glass you might be able to get them off not sure?? But I would let it go for cheap. Just let me know.
not all 89's had door mounted belts my 89 hf did not, i guess it depends on the model,
when i went to replace my window i got one from an 89 and it didnt fit i ended up having to take it back and get a 91,

You are correct slowpokesi.
88 HF,DX, SI had the same window glass
89 HF had the 88 glass
89-91 DX, SI Had the smaller glass windows, and inch short than the hf I believe.
