Default Left turn = humming sound

Hi guys... got a problem...

My car's making a moderately loud 'ooooh' noise when I turn the wheel off center, to the left. The sound immediately quiets when I turn back to center or when I turn right.

Any ideas?

it might be the cv joint or hub. since it only happens when turning left. if not check to make sure the tire is not rubbing on anything.

I've been thinking wheel bearing too, but it happens on every left turn, not all the time... I thought a hub going out would do it no matter wheel orientation.

I'll check out the tire situation too... that would be weird if it were that seeing as I have a 5mm spacer on there now

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep 'em coming please...

Well it might be just starting to go bad and the extra stress from the left turns is actually causeing the noise if it is the wheel bearing give it enough time and eventually it will start making it going over bumps and such then go onto making a noise all the time.

DANG! I was hoping to not have to replace the wheel bearings

I shall start calling around I guess... this would also be a good time to upgrade the wheelstuds too I suppose

Curse you, CRX!

Just had to get the right wheel bearing done on my lUde. Ran me about $140 for parts and labor. the guy suggested I get both sides done while I was at it, but I couldn't find another bearing anywhere in town to save my life. So I'm running around on one new one.
Anyway, personally minewas making a grinding/wobbling sound all the time. Turning and going in a straight line. My guess would be a bad CV joint. Check underneath for a cracked boot.

Not too sure if it is wheel bearing, all mine that went bad didnt humm occasionally, they made a dry, greaseless grinding sound ALL the time...could be another susp.part.
