Default d16z6 with headword and cams, can the stock bottom end handle an 8k redline?

If I was to send my head out to *X* company and get some a full valve train installed along with porting and cams, can a stock bottom end z6 block handle revs to 8k?

Hmm well I really don't know much, but with my whole STOCK engine all i had was an intake an a cam gear and I was redlining it alot and a piston rod snapped and i blew my engine.... i'd say work on the bottom end before driving it at high RPMs.
