93 si prelude / h22 install, whats needed ?
A friend of mine is swapping a h22 motor in his 93 si...h23 non vtec.
-What is needed?
he bought a complete h22 swap for $1800,
But it only came with the
-Motor / long block
-Tranny
-Harness
-ECU
is that all he needs for the swap?
or he is gonna need Axles and shift linkage ? or can he use the h23 ones ?
Any advise is welcome, But if you're gonna bitch and tell me to do the search..
Please dont waste your time writing stupid comments.
-Thanks in advance to all those who want to help.

I swapped a 93 VTEC into my 93 SI. Nothing else is needed. Your existing mounts, axles and wiring harness will work. I assume the SI was a manual. I read that if the ECU is out of a 95 plus that there is some wiring modifications required. Since mine was a 95, none was needed.

you will need to add the VTEC sol and VTEC press wires right? Is the PS line the same? How about the pump itself? Alternator is the same I guess?
if it did not come with the the ac and alternator you will have to swap yours from the h23 over and use the h23 crank pulley because the number of ribs is different. and the power steering lines are all the smae i think, hes right if you are not one of the lucky ones where the h23 harness already came prepped for the vtec sol and vtec press swithc then you will have to run those wires.

My brother will be doing this swap in the next couple weeks so we'll be able to report on what's needed from his experience. The plan is to put a 93 H22 longblock into a 92 Si and use the Si tranny. I just remembered that the header is different too. Also, given the different cylinder head I think the PS bracket must be different as well...
Yup!
The PS bracket is diffrent!
I have been told that you can use the one off the h23 for the H22> HOWEVER, You will need to do a bit of drinding on the braket. So it will clear, or you may have some clearance issues. Please don't "QUOTE" me though. Nope > You will need to get a H22 HEADER+DOWN pipe..
I was told that I could get away with only haven the JDM H22 Upper header////!!NOPE
<FACT> Make sure you get bolth pieces for you swap.
