In my kits I do 2 feet from the block to the tee, and 4 feet from the tee to the Turbo. It's slightly more then nessicary, but it gives you room to position everything where you need it.

Having it longer than it has to be shouldn't have any problems.
My firewall kit is 18" from the back of the block to the firewall, and 4ft from the firewall to the turbo.
